Free Trading Tools for Every Market

A curated set of free calendars, converters and technical scanners used by the MarketsHQ desk to plan trades, track catalysts and manage risk across forex, indices, stocks, commodities and crypto.

What you can do here

Every serious trader relies on the same handful of daily utilities: a calendar to spot the next catalyst, an earnings schedule to sidestep single-stock volatility, a converter to size positions in the right currency, and a technical scanner to check whether momentum agrees with the plan. Instead of juggling four different sites, we built these four tools in-house — free, ad-light and consistent with the rest of the MarketsHQ workflow.

Pair the tools below with our live market data and daily analysis to move from screening an idea to executing it in the same place. New to trading? Start with the MarketsHQ Academy for structured lessons on how to interpret the data these tools surface.

All trading tools

Economic Calendar

Global macro releases, central-bank decisions and market-moving events, filterable by country and impact.

  • Live consensus, previous and actual values as prints hit the wire
  • Country and impact filters (high, medium, low)
  • Coverage of the Fed, ECB, BoE, BoJ, PBoC and other majors

Best used to: Plan around CPI, NFP, PMIs and rate decisions — the events that move forex, indices and gold the most.

Earnings Calendar

Upcoming corporate earnings for US, European and Asian stocks with EPS and revenue estimates.

  • Pre-market and after-hours reporting times
  • Consensus EPS and revenue estimates vs prior quarter
  • Coverage of mega-caps, banks and high-beta tech names

Best used to: Anticipate single-stock volatility, sector rotation and index moves around megacap prints (AAPL, MSFT, NVDA, TSLA).

Currency Converter

Convert any amount between 20+ majors and crosses using live interbank exchange rates.

  • Real-time mid-market pricing (not retail spreads)
  • Majors, commodity currencies and top EM crosses
  • Handy for position sizing, invoicing and travel budgeting

Best used to: Size positions in your account currency, check cross-rate arbitrage and value international P&L instantly.

Technical Analysis

Multi-timeframe oscillator and moving-average summary for forex, indices, commodities and crypto.

  • RSI, MACD, Stochastic, CCI and Williams %R
  • SMA and EMA (10, 20, 50, 100, 200) with buy/sell tally
  • 1m through 1M timeframes — spot alignment across horizons

Best used to: Quickly gauge whether momentum agrees with your bias before committing to a trade or scaling in.

How professional traders use these tools

  1. Start with the calendar. Every morning, open the economic calendar and mark the high-impact events for your session. If CPI, an FOMC decision or NFP is on deck, size down and avoid taking new positions minutes before the release.
  2. Screen earnings risk. If you trade indices or single stocks, cross-check the earnings calendar for names in your book. A megacap tech print can move the S&P 500 by more than a macro release.
  3. Confirm with technicals. Before entering, run the pair or ticker through the technical analysis summary. If the higher-timeframe read disagrees with your intraday setup, wait for alignment or trim size.
  4. Size in the right currency. Use the currency converter to translate risk-per-trade from your account currency into the instrument's quote currency — the simplest way to keep risk consistent across pairs.
