Editorial policy & methodology
The standards every MarketsHQ article is held to — how we source, verify, date and correct what we publish.
Sourcing
Every number in a MarketsHQ article is attributable to a named primary source — an exchange, a central bank, a regulator, a company filing or a named analyst — with the date it was published. Sources are listed at the foot of each news and analysis article, and we link out to them directly rather than to aggregators.
Forecasts and uncertainty
Price forecasts are attributed to whoever made them and dated. Where we publish our own scenarios we state the range, the assumptions behind it and the level that would invalidate it. We do not publish single-point price targets dressed up as certainty, and nothing on this site is personalised investment advice.
Methodology
Comparison tables (brokers, ETFs, instruments) state the criteria used, the date the data was collected and the source of each field. Where an ordering is subjective we say so. When a methodology changes materially, the article records it.
Dates and updates
A post shows an 'Updated' date only when its actual text changed. Routine technical maintenance — link rewrites, tagging, metadata fixes — does not alter the update date, and the same rule governs the dates we publish to search engines in our structured data and sitemaps.
Corrections
Factual errors are corrected as soon as they are confirmed. Substantive corrections are noted in the article itself rather than quietly overwritten. Readers can flag an error through our contact page.
Independence and disclosure
Editorial decisions are made by the newsroom. Some links to brokers and platforms are commercial partnerships and are marked as sponsored; a commercial relationship never buys a rating, a ranking position or favourable coverage. Authors do not trade instruments they are actively writing about ahead of publication.
Use of AI
AI tools may assist with research, data collation and drafting. Every published article is reviewed, verified against its primary sources and signed off by a named human author who is accountable for it. We do not publish unreviewed machine-generated content.
Expertise
Articles are assigned to authors whose declared specialisation matches the topic. Each author page lists their role, years of experience, areas of coverage and the pieces they have published.
